Come and be Inspired!
Executive Women in Government (EWG) has for more than fifty years served as a powerful force in promoting the advancement of women into federal and military leadership positions.
The last time I had the honor of holding this position COVID was descending upon us, interrupting our endeavors in mid-stride, and leaving our goals unfinished.
I am humbled by the thought that I have your support once again to lead this tremendous organization with its unique and multi-talented membership of volunteers.
Over the past 10 years, I have repeatedly served as a mentor and remain committed to the vision that it has never been more important than today for those women in leadership positions to support and expand an effective network among successful professionals and to mentor rising leaders. EWG does this through its marquee mentor program, informal leadership development activities, and enterprising networking opportunities.
EWG offers opportunities for current and aspiring senior women leaders to share insights and experiences, and ultimately to be inspired. I hope to capitalize on those insights in a number of ways.
- Send me your ideas and proposals for events, networking, a speaker series, and please include out of the box ideas. Why not a picnic or an auction or a member-guest party on the Potomac?
- Let’s explore more cooperative events with other organizations with similar missions and values to encourage the infusion of new members, greater diversity, broadening of horizons, and more.
- Let’s also place emphasis on fun this coming year. In the past couple of years, it was easy to default to virtual events. Relationships are built, and communication skills honed, through in-person engagement.
It is a privilege to serve as EWG President, and I encourage you to join us as we continue to motivate, support and elevate a talented, diverse and inclusive leadership cadre of executive women in government.
Ellen McClain
2024-2025 President
