Dear Members:
I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. I wanted to follow up with you on my earlier message from April 29th in which I had proposed a temporary postponement and possibly short extension of the usual yearly EWG schedule.
Last week, the EWG Board of Directors met via a conference call to reconsider the status of our temporary postponement. There was consensus to begin the process to elect next year’s elected officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary). In accordance with the by-laws, I have appointed Shoshanna Grove as Chair of the Nominations Committee. Of course, this only happened after Shoshanna graciously volunteered to assume the role and responsibilities! She will be assisted by former past President Ana Hinojosa and Vice President Deborah Leben. During these challenging times, I am particularly grateful for their offers to guide this important process. They will be contacting you in the near future for nominations for the elected officers’ positions and with additional information.
As this election process proceeds, we will be looking into possible locations for the Installation ceremony-probably an outdoors location where we can socially distance but gather to celebrate the election of the new EWG officers! We are cautiously optimistic that we may be able to do this in late July.
We also welcome your feedback on our proposed course of action.
